Narayan’s divinity is moulded thus with ordinary, everyday objects common to most households. Recycled materials found in the city are the sculptor’s tools to create the vision of Shakti, the feminine divinity. Does this in anyway diminish the glory of his goddess? Narayan disagrees, and quoting Uttara Tantra says, 'Look upon a woman as a goddess / whose special energy she is, / and honour her in that state.'
