He was born in 1946 at Nerur Par, Maharashtra. He was trained at the J.J. School of Art where he spent the best part of 20 years as a teacher. During his formative years he worked under Shankar Palsikar. Also inspired by Paul Klee, he sought to recreate nature rather than imitate it. Spontaneous and energetic in nature the use of watercolors suit his temperament. Bold brushstrokes and dripping color tones form the surface of his works that at times reveal the hidden structures of his self created nature.

One paper work and two canvases bring out the essence of the artist’s practice. Heavy spread of dark colours, sensitive linear drips, flakes of luminous colours and calligraphic lines create an abstract language that is undoubtedly fantastic, mystical and absorbing.
His chromatic patches, linear gird and colour flakes do not bring any association of the material world, not even remotely. Instead fills up the mind with an abstract pleasure.
