Pandurangiah Daroz was born in 1944 in Hyderabad. He completed his Diploma in Applied Arts and Design from the College of Fine Arts and Architecture, Hyderabad in the year 1967. He studied sculpture, College of Fine Arts and Architecture, Hyderabad 1967 - 68. He specialized in Ceramics under Jyotsna Bhatt, Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda during 1970 - 72. Mr Daroz has had numerous solo exhibitions across India and the world. He has also undertaken several commissions in the public space.

Besides his site specific commissions his work is available for public viewing at the National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi, the Museum of Arandjlovac, Yugoslavia, the Roopankar Museum, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal, the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, the Indian Embassy, Portugal and the Ceramic Museum Icheon, Korea. Daroz lives and works in New Delhi. He is renowned sculptor and has won several awards for his works.

These are unique creations of the artist in the sense the works reflect the artist's keen sense of the material and virtuosity. The making of the works is always interesting to a perceptive viewer because the final works create scopes of reading the construction. Provisions for light inside the body of the works make the works look very exclusive. These very subtle works form a special category of their own.
